How To Pull A Tablecloth From Under A Dinner Service

Be amazed as David Zanthor performs this famous old trick. Then try it yourself. It's not that hard! Videojug dares you to Pull a Tablecloth from Under a Dinner Service!

Step 1:
You will need

* Plastic Crockery
* Breakable Crockery
* Silverware
* Some Fruit
* And a show stopper
* A Smooth table with a sharp edge
* Tablecloth - this must be smooth without any edge seams
* And you might also need a little bit of magic.

Step 2:
Set Up
Spread out the tablecloth so it is smooth and flat. Adjust it so it is almost flush with the table at the opposite end to where you are pulling. Allow the rest of the tablecloth to hang down on you side.
Step 3:
Technique
It's a good idea to practice with plastic crockery first so you don't smash anything valuable. Picnic sets and garden crockery are a good bet. Put some fruit in them to make them heavier. This will make it easier when you do the trick.

Try removing your jacket and rolling up your sleeves for dramatic effect.

Start with just one cup or bowl to begin with.

The trick is to hold the tablecloth with both hands from the bottom and bunch it up to the table edge. When you pull, pull quickly downwards and step away.

Don't pull upwards or straight out or you will mess it up.

Keep practicing until you get it right. Once you have mastered one item, try it with more. Fantastico!
Step 4:
Lay the table
Once you are confident in your ability, try it with breakable crockery. Like before - the heavier the better.

As you increase in confidence, keep adding more and more.

For the finale - place a the show stopper as the centre piece

As it's a taller object, put it nearer the edge of the table. That way the cloth has less distance to travel underneath it.
